Law School/Legal Career: Are They For Me?

Are you interested in law? Curious about how law is taught in a college class? Want to meet UAlbany alumni who have pursued careers in law? Join us for an interactive discussion of legal issues in a simulated classroom session featuring alumna/lawyer/scientist Dr. Sharon Kantor ’73 and Professor James Acker. Then hear from a panel of alumni regarding legal education and career opportunities. Dr. Kantor, who earned both law and Ph.D. degrees after graduating from UAlbany, will explore issues relating to her specialization in intellectual property, including patent law. Professor Acker will focus on constitutional issues pertaining to criminal justice. Students, alumni, members of the surrounding community, and anyone interested in witnessing and participating in a simulated law-related classroom discussion are encouraged to attend. Have you ever misplaced your keys, forgotten someone’s name, or struggled to recall what you did last night? The phenomenon of memory reconstruction and the development of false memories and beliefs is a “hot topic” in cognitive and memory research. But just how can we demonstrate the existence of such memories? And, when we do forget, what are some techniques to try to remember? Learn about what the research tells us regarding false memories, their impact in your decision making, and what to do to decrease their prevalence. Registration required. Free.

Package includes lunch buffet, and football game ticket.  Packages currently available include game ticket behind the visiting team. If you would like an upgraded game ticket starting at $19 you may purchase it by calling 518-442-3263 and purchase the lunch buffet only option. Current UAlbany Students receive free game ticket in student section and can use meal swipe. If you would like your student to sit with you, you will need to purchase a package.  Free parking.
