UA CareerPath
(Formerly MonsterTRAK) This nationwide internet service lists more than 200,000 job openings. It is offered free of charge to alumni. Companies have the option of listing positions specifically for UAlbany alumni or students. To access UA CareerPath, email in Career Services to request access. You will need to provide the email address you prefer to use when accessing the system. You will receive registration directions by email.


Career Shift
Career Shift, which is housed in UA CareerPath, provides information on potential employers and contacts in a variety of industries both nationally and internationally. To access Career Shift, you must first register for UA CareerPath (see directions above).

  • Search, select and store job listings from all job boards and all company job postings.
  • Get up-to-date contact information, including e-mail addresses, for millions of companies.
  • Access in-depth information about contacts and companies posting jobs.
  • Record, save and store your correspondence history records automatically.
  • Create personal marketing campaigns, including unlimited resumes and cover letters easily, and save them to access, print or e-mail.

Startup Career Resources 
UAlbany's Startup Career Resources by Uncubed demystify the startup job search for students and young alumni. Content has been developed from conversations with hundreds of startups as well as intensive case studies of startup success stories such as Tumblr, Spotify, Microsoft, Meetup, Behance and Stack Exchange.

This database of federal vacancy announcements is searchable by field or agency. Includes online application and resume-building assistance.

Company Research Internet Sites
Review company profiles and financial information on thousands of companies. Most sites allow you to search by company name or a specific category.

Relocation and Salary Information
This site provides links to help you compute cost-of-living comparisons, estimate relocation costs, and figure salary comparisons for hundreds of cities nationwide. You can access hundreds of salary surveys or get a profile of the state and location you may be relocating to.

UCAN: UAlbany Career Advisory Network
UCAN is an online database that can help you tap into a world-wide network of alumni professionals. Get feedback on your career strategy and goals, expand your network, discuss industry trends and more. Alumni can access the network through the UAlbany alumni online community. Search by job type, job title, key words, area of expertise or company name. Search by city or around the world.  To access UCAN, go to the UCAN homepage and click on "search for a career advisor." You will be prompted to log in or register for the alumni online community if you have not already done so.

Join the UAlbany Alumni Group on LinkedIn, the leading online professional networking tool. Leverage the power of the UAlbany alumni network to connect with UAlbany alums and their non-alumni contacts. Find inside connections to jobs, industry experts and business partners. Career Webinars
Our career webinar series delivers the nation’s top career authors and experts right to your computer for live webinars. You also can access archived recordings when it’s convenient for you. The Career Webinar Portal also hosts other career resources including a career forum, networking tools and more. Note: The Career Webinar Portal is best viewed using Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 11 or Safari.

Job Fairs

There are a number of career fairs offered at UAlbany that are appropriate for recent alumni and students, including one offered in September and one in February. For more information, contact Career Services at (518) 437-4900.
The Alumni Association also partners with Uncubed to bring UAlbany alumni and students a unique job fair experience, the Uncbued Tech and Startup Job Fair. These fairs, held in NYC and other locations throughout the country, are interactive conferences that offers classes, along with drinks, music, snacks, contests, and live art throughout the day. Participating companies often include Tumblr, Spotify, Etsy, Yext, Shapeways, Knewton, Soundcloud, Fog Creek Software, and more. Reference Files
Reference files can be established to house reference letters only for University at Albany students or alumni for the following reasons: application requests for K-12 and University administrative and teaching positions; and candidates seeking entrance into graduate and professional school programs. Career Services does not retain reference letters indefinitely. Reference files will be retained for five years after you open the file or five years after date of last use of the file. Career Library
The library, housed in Career Services, contains books, video cassettes, newspapers, periodicals, a job vacancy file and an internship file which provide information to support the career planning process and the job search. School of Business
The School has established an Alumni Office of Career Services aimed at increasing opportunities for business students and graduates.
